Go Green Taxis are delighted to have been announced the winner of the Ethical Stance category in the Business & Community Awards, organised by Didcot First and Didcot Chamber of Commerce.
Go Green Taxis won the award in recognition of our initiative to provide a totally ‘green’ transport option for Didcot using water based paint on the vehicles, eco friendly driving techniques in our hybrid part electric part petrol cars and reducing our carbon footprint by our office practises. The judges applauded our use of a local purchasing policy and look forward to the time when there is a hybrid car able to take a wheelchair – something much sought after by Go Green.
We were thrilled that the hard work of our staff behind the scenes in our Call Centre could be recognised, as they were presented the award at the Gala Ceremony.

Go Green Taxis are proud to have been nominated for the ‘Ethical Stance’ category of Didcot’s Business & Community Awards (BACAs). The Awards are co-ordinated by Didcot First and Didcot Chamber of Commerce.
We are currently being interviewed, along with the other nominated businesses and community groups, so the judges can make their decisions ready for the awards ceremony on 14th October 2011.

Go Green Taxis was founded by the Directors Mark John & Mike Hatter back in October 2009 with just one car and a telephone! Our strong commitment to helping reduce CO2 emissions and delivering a first class service has proved popular and since 2009 we have expanded to a four car fleet of Toyota Prii (official plural for Prius), and now have five drivers. We have also moved into a premises in the centre of Didcot and have recruited a friendly call center team who are on hand to take customer’s bookings and answer any queries or questions. We believe that listening to our customer base is vital to providing a good quality service and value the feedback that they provide us with.
Our core business has not only been about providing an excellent customer service, but also to be a greener company. We have ensured that we are an environmentally friendlier mode of transport by exclusively using the Toyota Prius, ensuring the drivers are using green driving techniques, and adopting greener alternatives within the cars and office wherever is possible.
We hope that we are making a positive effect on the local community by providing a great service at competitive prices and make a difference to the environment at large by providing a greener alternative in transport. We are always aiming to improve our service and impact on the environment and will be bringing on more drivers and cars in the near future to help us do this.
The last eighteen months have been an amazing journey, which would have been impossible without our great customers. We would like to thank them for all their support along the way, and we hope that they will continue to be valued customers for a long time to come.
